Health and HIV statistics in South Africa


  • Its downhill from here: 78% of over 40s say they are more health conscious than when they were younger.(UCT Unilever Institute /Synovate Prime Time Study 2008)

  • 7.8 million South Africans say they smoked a cigarette yesterday. Of those, nearly 180,000 were aged between 16 and 18. (AMPS 2007B)
